Shutters
- Resale Value
- Dressing your house to impress with shutters can pay off in the future if you're looking to sell.
- Window Insulation
- Adding shutters to your windows can result in added energy savings. Nice!
- Light Regulation
- Open or closed? Whether you are in the mood for bright, beautiful views or a daytime slumber party, shutters are excellent light regulators.
- Timeless and Dazzling
- Always in style, shutters prove again and again that they are the ultimate in durability for decades of fun and function.
Interior shutters are the pinnacle of window treatments. Durable, timeless, clean, and dependable, plantation shutters can save you money on energy costs, add curb appeal to your home, and are a reliable system of light control. Louvers easily angle up and down to provide unobstructed views when open and shut out almost all light when closed.
Constructed from recyclable vinyl with the look of painted wood, faux wood shutters are easy to clean and are guaranteed not to fade, peel, or warp. Wood shutters are created from solid basswood and highly valued for window coverings due to the wood’s superior quality, even texture, and attractive grain.
Benefits of Choosing Interior Shutters
At JustBlinds, our goal is to make window treatment shopping as easy as possible. Our Buying Guides for Shutters is a great place to start! Here are some advantages when choosing shutters for your home:
- Timeless: Shutters are always in style and pair well with any décor. In addition, they also look great from the outside, increasing your curb appeal.
- Resale Value: Interior shutters are one of the few window treatments that can add value to your home.
- Insulating: Interior shutters make great insulators for your windows, helping your home be more energy efficient and even helping to cut down on outside noise.
- Style: Available in a variety of colors, stains, hardware colors, and even faux wood or real wood, shutters are a perfect fit to match any style.
Upgrades and Options
Interior shutters have some options and upgrades available to enhance their look or function.
- Frames and Mounts: Interior shutters are available with a variety of mounts and panel configurations. This allows you to customize exactly how you want your shutters to look and function.
- Hidden Tilts: Instead of being in the front, a hidden tilt upgrade moves the control rod to the back of the louvers, so it’s not visible.
- Hinge Colors: In addition to the shutter louvers, you can even customize the hinge colors to ensure matching hardware throughout your home.
- Split Tilt: Adding in a divider rail, split tilt shutters have the ability to open or close at the top or bottom independently of the other.
Considerations
Here are a few things to consider before purchasing shutters.
- Frame options depend on your window’s sill and operation. Take note if you have a protruding window sill or bottom crank on your window.
- There are several shutter configurations to choose from, based on your window width.
- Interior shutters made with real wood can be costly. For a more cost-conscious option, consider faux wood.
- If your window tilts in for cleaning, an outside mount option is recommended.
- Wood shutters will have a front tilt. Faux Wood will have rear tilt, split tilt over 62" in height.
- Shutters are very heavy and can be difficult to install, especially on large windows. If you have any questions, our design consultants are available at 1-800-959-9939 to help find the shutter solution that’s right for you.
